HTML Kit is a highly customizable development environment that can be used to create, edit, preview, validate and publish web pages and text files.
Despite its name and the light download size, HTML-Kit 292 is a multi-purpose tool that has support for several scripting and programming languages.
Over 400 free plugins are available for customizing and extending HTML-Kit to fit the way you work. Categories include ASP, CF, C#, iHTML, Java, JavaScript,
JSP, Perl, PHP, Python, SQL and more.
Newcomers to web design can benefit from letting HTML-Kit point out errors and provide suggestions on how to create standards-compliant pages. Experienced
developers can save time spent on common tasks using the extensible interface while maintaining full control over source code.
These scripts are specifically designed to make
HTML Kit

Since there are so many features, plug-ins, and options for advanced programming tasks, there is no way for me to make these scripts entirely comprehensive from the start. hopefully we can make this a collaborative effort by working together to improve these scripts as time goes on. I've added this comment section and auto email notification system to make it easier for people using HTML Kit, to become aware of advancements, updates, and discussion about these scripts as soon as they are posted.
One thing to note: The menus within HTML Kit are not actually menus in the sense that JAWS recognizes them. This required a bit of fancy footwork to make JAWS pretend that it does, which basically means that the menus look and feel like menus in JAWS, but aren't... To get JAWS to recognize unavailable items for instance, a specific background color was identified. Similarly, highlighted text within the code window had to be detected in the same manner. As a result, since I wrote the scripts using JAWS 10 on Windows XP Pro - SP3, these foreground and background color combinations may be different on Vista or Windows7... I have no way of knowing. So if unavailable menu items are not being announced as unavailable, or selected text in the code window isn't being announced, this is likely the reason. These constant values can be changed within the Const declarations within the scripts. If you do identify differences such as these, please post them here so we all can reference them.
If you would like to enhance these scripts, please comment the changed areas within the code so your contributions can clearly be seen. This will help others from overlapping or duplicating the efforts of others.
Thanks, Bryan
